A Walk Around Lake Lynn

Lake Lynn

This past weekend, Dave's Mom came up to visit along with her dog Rocky.  The kids thought it would be fun to take Grandma and Rocky for a walk at the park.

It was a hot afternoon, so Rocky decided to cool of by taking a dip in the lake.

Rocky going for a swim.

Grandma and Ashleigh looking on.

We saw plenty of ducks and geese by the lake.

And turtles

After our hot 2 mile walk around the lake, we cooled off with some ice cream from Goodberry's!

Weekend Yard Sale Finds

Good morning!  Time to share my yard sale finds from the weekend

Bought 3 pieces of Southern Living Gallery dinnerware and the small shelf with hooks above for $2.50 from a charity yard sale.

A large clam shell from an estate sale - $2.

The clam shell is currently occupying the space on the mint green stand where my framed star fish was.  The star fish apparently disappeared and no one seems to know where it went.  According to Ashleigh and Clayton, it was last seen being hurled through the air by Reed...hmmm...

Cherub plaque - $1.  This will probably be used in an outdoors/garden project.

Two storage bins - $1 each

And this pink blazer for $2.

Next weekend, Dave and I will be taking a break from yard sales.  We are finally replacing our broken dishwasher and will be impatiently waiting around for our new Bosch dishwasher to be delivered and installed!  It will probably take up our entire day, but after a year of being without a dishwasher, it is worth it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Vietri Bowl

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I just have two yard sale finds to share this morning.  The first is this beautiful turquoise Vietri bowl.  The picture does not fully do this bowl justice.  As the color is just so lovely.  I paid $2 for the bowl.

I also picked up this decorative fireplace screen for $2.  I had been wanting a more decorative screen for our fireplace for awhile now.  I always kept an eye out for a clearanced one at Target, but never found one in my price range.  So I was beyond thrilled to find this screen for just $2!  Oh, the beauty of yard sales!

Thanks for stopping by!

Weekend Yard Sale Scores

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!  We started our long weekend off with a few yard sales on Saturday.  I picked up this 4-piece Oneida tea set for $5.  It is in need of some cleaning, but I love the details of the teapots and even the blackish patina they've taken on.

Bought this large decorative wall plaque for $8.

Ceramic rooster with wooden utensils $2

This little red latern was included with the the tea set.

And for the kids, the real score of the weekend - a Franklin dual court electronic arcade basketball game - $20.  Clayton, who accompanied us on our yard sale outing, was so tickled when Dave bought this.  We all have enjoyed our little family basketball competitions this weekend :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Say Yes to the (Yard Sale) Dress!

Molly New York halter top dress - $5

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Ours was HOT.  And filled with yard sales!

This first yard sale buy was something Dave bought for me.  Actually the seller insisted he buy it for me!  Not only that but she insisted I try it on right over my clothes because the brown and pink colors of the dress would look so good on me.  Kind of awkward, but I tried it on.  And I said "yes!" to this Molly New York yard sale dress for $5!

Nightstand $5

I loved the detail on the doors of this nightstand and the drop down handles reminded me of our trash to treasure armoire.  I have already started painting the nightstand in the same Hush White color of the armoire.

Leaf plate - FREE!

The seller of the nightstand agreed to give us this leaf plate for FREE.

A large basket $2

Four cobalt blue glass containers - $2 for all

Bolts of check fabric (for all the sewing I don't know how to do!) - $1 from the dress lady

Small mirror - $1

Large shell - .25

Books for Ashleigh - .25 each

Dave also bought a circa 1980-something Nintendo system with games for $5.  I think the seller misread Dave's nostalgia over playing Mike Tyson Punch Out and Super Mario as being interested in actually buying the system.  She was so nice and sweet it was kind of hard to say no at that point.  Dave did have a little buyers remorse when we got home.  It only came with one controller and while it worked it kept freezing up.  Our neighbor, who is into all things electronic, suggested a can of compressed air to clean out the dust.  The air seemed to do the trick, and Dave and the kids played Super Mario all weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!
